3 charged in northern Ky. slaying

BURLINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Police in northern Kentucky have arrested three men after finding a dismembered corpse.

Boone County Sheriff's spokesman Tom Scheben said in a statement on Tuesday that the torso of a male body was found in a field in Verona along with body parts that had been wrapped up and discarded. Scheben said officers are trying to identify the victim, who was killed on Jan. 9. He said detectives are searching for more body parts at a landfill in Butler.

He said 21-year-old Jefferey Allen and 22-year-old Stephen Harkness, both of Verona, and 23-year-old Anthony Baumgartner of Florence were arrested early Tuesday and charged with murder, kidnapping, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.

Online jail records don't show whether the three have attorneys.
