First Frost Reported In Eastern Ky.

JACKSON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky got its first observed frost early Friday, signaling a shift to autumn weather.

National Weather Service spokesman Jeff Carico said an observer in Booneville reported light frost had formed.

Carico said light fog in some valleys and heavy fog observed at Hazard could have kept other locations from having frost as temperatures dipped into the 30s before dawn.

London and Fort Campbell shared the lowest recorded statewide
temperature Friday morning at 38 degrees.

Slightly warmer weather made frost formation unlikely overnight Friday.
