Rain Could Help Forest Fires

Rain forecast for later today should help fire crews battling a fire in the Daniel Boone National Forest.

That fire has already scorched hundreds of acres near the Wolfe County line in Powell County.

Right now, forestry officials say 28 firefighters are on the scene making sure it doesn't cross the fire lines.

We're told two more forest fires are also burning this midday in McCreary County.

The Fred Fire is about 150 acres and the Patrick Fire is 30 acres. They are burning in an area west of Pine Knott

Crews from several different districts are on scene battling those flames.
