A search is on for a bold robber who hit a busy bank just before closing time.
It happened Tuesday evening at the Fifth-Third Bank along US 127 in Frankfort, near Interstate 64.
Police say the man went in wearing a disguise and demanding cash, while the lobby was full of customers.
"If their desperate enough to walk into a crowded bank and demand money, and announcing it as a robbery. There is that line of thought, that they could be a danger to the public," said Major Fred Deaton, with Frankfort Police.
Police say the suspect is a white male in his mid 20's, six-feet tall with a thin build. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a black ball cap, sunglasses, and a blond wig.
"It was a long wig, about shoulder length," Deaton said.
Police say the robber left on foot towards busy US 127 and then disappeared. At this time, it's not clear if he got away with cash or if he had a weapon.
"That is all still under investigation," said Deaton.
Major Deaton says not only did the bank employee's get a good look at the suspect, but so did several customers. Everyone has been interviewed.
"We are hoping their accounts will lead us to this man before he can strike again," Deaton went on to say.
