A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is out for for much of northern and eastern Kentucky until 9 p.m. This is just east of the Lexington metro.
A crash Friday morning sent one woman to the hospital after leaving the roadway and crashing through several yards.i>
Police say Debra Carlisle was traveling on Leestown Road when she went off the road, hitting a utility pole.
They say the driver then traveled through several yards, crashing into two fences.
"I was actually fixing to come back here and start planting right there, so thank God he protected me by delaying me," homeowner Danny Hiatt said, pointing to where his fence was torn down.
Debra's husband tells us she is a nurse and worked late last night and he believes she fell asleep at the wheel.
"That's the only thing I can figure out. I'm just glad she didn't hit another vehicle out here," says Grover Carlisle.
Debra Carlisle was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
The crash did impact cable and phone lines along Leestown Road for a couple of hours, but workers quickly repaired the problem.
