A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is out for for much of northern and eastern Kentucky until 9 p.m. This is just east of the Lexington metro.
LEXINGTON, KY -- A special event will close down Limestone Street from Avenue of Champions to Third Street also affecting the main LexTran terminal's activities for much of Sunday. (October 12)
"Second Sunday," in its first occurence, is an attempt by the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government to stimulate physical activity and a sense of community on a regular basis.
"Pedestrian and bike traffic (are) encouraged during the event, which is designed to help Lexington residents develop active lifestyles," states a news release from the city/county government.
The news release states that intersections are Barr, Chrysalis, Constitution, High, Main, Maxwell, Mechanic, Pleasant Stone, Short, Vine and Warren also will be blocked.
LexTran buses will pick up and drop off passengers on High Street, directly behind the bus system's Vine Street transit center, from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
