Daniel Orton, a 6-10 center out of Bishop McGuiness in Oklahoma City, has given Kentucky Coach Billy Gillispie his verbal commitment to play for the Wildcats.

The five-star center is rated the number 3 center and number 22-rated prospect overall in the country.

Orton has been in Lexington over the weekend to attend Big Blue Madness and chose Kentucky over the likes of Kansas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

Orton joins a class that is shaping up to be one of the best in the country, with the other verbal commitments of Jon Hood and G.J. Vilarino.

YES!! Cobb at QB!!! Why can't Brooks see this?????

Posted by: Tyrone Location: Lexington on Oct 14, 2008 at 02:53 PM
haha I agree with all the QB comments. But we still wont make it to the final four no matter what players we have. I think obtaining Gillispie was a mistake. Maybe if he wasn't drunk all the time he could coach better.

I would like to see UK put a big football player on its roster, match ups kill UK when other teams do this. LSU, AR, and FL have been famous for this. Tubby would only have the so called "projects" from Ethiopia, tall and thin to match up against a offensive lineman.

Can he play Quarterback???

And remember where you can listen to all the UK Basketball games...Newsradio 630 WLAP, & 98-1 The Bull - the home of the Cats!

Can Orton play QB too? We need him on the football team because Hartline just can't do it. I don't know why Brooks won't wake up and start Randall Cobb at QB.

This is straight wicked. I'm loving it.

That's what I like to hear. Top recruits coming to the top college basketball program in the nation. Looks like teams are going to be afraid to come into Rupp Arena. Let the beatings commence. GO CATS!!!!!!

This is going to be an exciting year! I knew Billy G just needed some time to get things going! You couldn't expect the man to come in and turn things around his first year! No one could do that! We will just get better and better each year, I think! We're coming back with a vengeance! Go Billy G! Go Big Blue!

Welcome to UK Daniel!!!! Way to go Coach now lets bring home #8!!!!

See the true fans knew this was possible last year when Billy arrived. The fans who were tradhing him all last need don't need to jump on the wagon now. This man is a genius and we all need to give him time to build this thing because it is going to happen. Hopefully the H-L writers will shut up and leave him alone and believe like we die hards have since he came aboard. GO Billy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
