MAYSVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A northeast Kentucky school district is sorting through 31 applicants for the superintendent's position.
Mason County School's selection committee is scheduled to meet with Kentucky School Board Association's Mike Oder to review the committee's duties and to begin the task of reviewing applications. Oder is serving as a consultant to the district as it moves through the hiring process.
The Ledger-Independent reported that seven applicants are current superintendents; 14 are central office employees; six are principals; one is with an education organization; and three listed other as current employment.
Five candidates will be presented to all board of education members for consideration on April 25. Should the board of education not decide on any of the initial candidates to fill the position, the other applicants will be reviewed again.
