A teenager says someone tried to abduct her as she jogged, now an upscale Lexington neighborhood has put people who live there on alert.

The Homeowner's Association sent out e-mails this week, warning people about the incident.

According to that e-mail, a 14-year-old girl was jogging last week on Firebrook Boulevard in the Firebrook subdivision.

She says when she stopped to tie her shoe, an elderly Hispanic man tried to force her into his truck, but she fought him off and ran away.

The vehicle was described as a white pick-up truck with a cab on the back.

The Homeowner's Association is telling people who live in Firebrook to be on the lookout for anyone matching that description.

The association e-mailed people who live in Firebrook and surrounding communities, as well as schools in the area.

Wow Carolyn,....sounds like the write-in candidate Randy Tobia is our man for District 2. I'll be voting for him and so will my family members here. Tom Blues doesn't have a clue. I'd like to hear him say it's a federal issue if one of these illegals assaulted him or one of his family members. Unless he's willing to walk the walk, he doesn't deserve the job. So I'm saying....Bye, Bye Blues!!!!!

I'm sick of watching our streets and nieghborhoods fill up with more illegals every year. If your in the 2nd District write in for Randy Tobia. He wants to put a stop to the North end turning into mexington. It's starting to look like Cardinal Valley over here. I emailed Tom Blues (our current councilman) and he gave me the usual excuses for illegals.

Other words for "upscale" are "pretentious, self-centered, arrogant, better-than-you and full of themselves."

Why can't our city be protected from these illegal perps? Our children are precious and need to be protected from these foreign invaders.

It's appalling that Mayor Newberry allows illegal aliens to terrorize our youngest citizens. When will he provide protection for all LEGAL citizens?????? Too bad he feels it's more important to send Police officers to Mexico to learn more about their culture. This is ABSURD!!!

Mayor Newberry is the one who is responsible for all the illegal corruption in this city. The amount of tax money he spends to support them is staggering. The police are instructed to tread lightly. If it wasn't for Ray Larson, we would have felons walking our streets, instead of being deported.

I feel for this girl, it will be part of her life from now on. When will Lexington do something about all the illegal alliens in our community. I haven't dared go out after dark for two years now. Our elected officals really don't care.

Hey Lisa, an upscale neighborhood is where the illegal hispanics work (gardening, roof repair etc), and a slum is where they live. Maybe the employers should be more careful who they hire.

This sort of thing will continue around Lexington, until Mayor Newberry starts cracking down on the illegal population. This is what happens in a Sanctuary City. No one, in any Lexington neighborhood is safe. Everyone should be very aware.

When will Newberry and Chief Bastin start listening to the citizens and get rid of the illegal aliens. I guess it will take a murder or DUI accident by an illegal that kills a family before they listen to us. It's already costing us millions of dollars to pay for all the freebies the illegals get. Wake up Lexington and call Newberry.

no matter where you are here in the states our oversaes you have be extra careful.

WAY TO GO GIRL!! I know your parents must be so proud of you for having the courage to fight back and getting away from that sicko with intentions to do you harm. What a great example you are to other girls!!

I am sorry for the girl that is awful. I would like someone to explain what up scale neighborhood is.

Posted by: MJ Location: Lex on Oct 15, 2008 at 03:14 PM
Well, that description only matches about a couple of hundred illegal aliens living in and around the Lexington area.

Not everyone knows where "Firebrook" is when reading this story...had to watch the video. Would have been simple enough to add that it's off Harrodsburg Road.

I am sorry, this young lady was confused about what was happening. It was merely an ACORN supporter tryiing to take her to the voter registration office.
