Computer Thieves Hit Four Businesses

It's a bit of a mystery: several businesses were burglarized this week, but police aren't sure how the thieves got in.

At least four businesses in the Lexington Green shopping center, off Nicholasville Road in Lexington, were hit.

Workers say, in all, the thieves got away with 11 computers.

Most of the businesses say they're more concerned about the data stored on those machines than for the computers themselves.

The burglaries happened in two buildings, on different floors.

There were no signs of forced entry which leads people to believe that the crimes were committed by someone on the inside, someone with keys.

The four businesses reporting stolen laptops are Nationwide and New York Life Insurance, Executrain and the Burgess and Niple Engineering Firm.
