One man is dead and another is recovering after a fight escalated into a stabbing in Lincoln County.

Police were called to the an apartment complex off of KY 1247 near Waynesburg Saturday night. The fight was reportedly over someone playing loud music.

Mackenzie Ryan Elmore died in the fight. His friend Jack Smith is recovering at UK Hospital where he is in fair condition. A third person involved, James Naylor, was questioned and released by police.

Neighbors say Naylor claims the stabbing was self defense , but Elmore's fiance, Misty Hatter, tells 27 NEWSFIRST she thinks otherwise. She says she would like to see him charged with murder.
Hatter also said that Elmore had just lost his 5-month-old daughter to SIDS on Friday. She says it's tragic that he was planning his daughter's funeral and now she is planning his funeral.

Hatter said she had actually been involved in a fight with James Naylor's girlfriend prior to the fight involving the men.

As for James Naylor, he moved out of the apartment complex Sunday. No charges have been filed against him at this point, but the case could go to the grand jury later this week.

Today we burried Ryan. I would like to say it is a means to end of this tragic string of events, but I am sorry to say that for many of us, that it is only the beginning. Healing from this nightmare can't begin until we have the answers that we long for. My son is heartbroken, and I don't have any answers for his questions. I feel such pain that I can't find the words. Just knowing that he will grow up without his father is unbearable. He will never see Levi's first big buck. He will never see him graduate at the top of his class, as I know he will, and he will never see his children's children. In his honor, I will make it my personal goal to cherish every moment with my family; to love and protect those close to me. I pray that we will remember this harsh lesson, and never suffer the loss of a loved one in this way ever again. My son and I will miss him, but we will forever remember him in our hearts.

Stabbing over loud music? I don't buy it! There was way more going on here than that or else these people are just unbelievably stupid!
