Stock prices are sharply lower on Wall Street.
The Dow Jones industrial average has been more than 300 points
lower in midday trading.
World markets have been seeing sharp declines after the release of disappointing corporate earnings reports. World leaders will meet in Washington Nov. 15 to discuss the global financial crisis.
The White House says President Bush has been working out the details by phone with several world leaders in recent days.
The summit will be aimed at reviewing progress being made to address the crisis and reforms needed to make sure it doesn't happen again.
