KSP Capture Escaped Bullitt County Inmates

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky State Police captured two inmates who escaped from jail nearly a week ago.

Shortly before midnight on Friday, police captured Jeremy Phelps
and Tommy Lee Southard at Southard's home in Lebanon Junction, just outside of Fort Knox.

Police said the inmates walked away from Fulton County Detention Center in southwestern Kentucky last Sunday.

Authorities said the inmates are suspected of stealing a van in Fulton, then stealing a pickup truck from casket company.

Both inmates are being held in the Bullitt County Jail on a first-degree escape charge.
