CADIZ, Ky. (AP) - A funeral is scheduled for Wednesday for three children police say were killed in their western Kentucky home before it was set on fire.
The combined funeral is scheduled for 4 p.m. CDT Wednesday in the Trigg County High School gymnasium, according to The Paducah Sun.
Police have charged Kevin Wayne Dunlap, 36, of Hopkinsville with three counts of capital murder, kidnapping, rape, attempted murder, burglary and tampering with physical evidence in the case.
Police said at a hearing Friday the children's bodies were found Oct. 15 at their home in Roaring Springs. Two girls, 17 and 14, and a boy, 5, were bound and gagged and had stab and slash wounds, police said.
Police said their mother, who survived, was raped and stabbed.
The Associated Press has previously identified the family, but is no longer naming them because authorities now say the mother was sexually assaulted. The AP generally does not identify victims of sexual assault.
