Police say a dispute ended with gunfire in an east Lexington neighborhood Saturday evening. It all happened at about 9:00 p.m. on Sherman Avenue in Lexington. Police say two people were shot at that location and the suspects fled in a brown Cadillac.
The suspects reportedly eluded police and made it further into downtown. They ended up ditching their car at 7th and Shropshire and fled on foot. Police managed to catch up with one of the men, 28-year old Torey Richardson. He's charged with two counts of assault, fleeing and evading, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
During the foot pursuit, police also found a small handgun they believe was used in the shooting.
The victims in this crime were transported to an area hospital for treatment of gun shot wounds. Police do not believe their injuries are life-threatening.
