Strong and severe storms continue to push across central and eastern Kentucky. This action should begin to wind down over the next few hours.
In some places in Kentucky, the hand that gives your child candy could be the hand of a sex offender.
Sergent Brian Sumner with the Kentucky State Police says there's no statewide law keeping many offenders from handing out candy to your kids. Only certain cities and towns have rules prohibiting sex offenders from participating.
Sumner recommends before you trick or treat that you check the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry. The Kentucky State Police sex offender registry tells you exactly where offenders live.
Sumner says you can map your route with the help of the site.
