Police say a Bourbon County inmate on work release was burglarizing homes with friends.
They now suspect the trio in burglaries in several counties, and say they could be responsible for even more.

Scott County Sheriff's Deputy Ben Jones says Bourbon County inmate Jason Shipwash could is believed to be involved in more than 20 burglaries in our area.

Deputy Jones says Shipwash was participating in a work-release program in which he was allowed to leave the facility for half the day. They believe during this time he was burglarizing homes with his fiance, Jessica Arnold, and his employer, Chris Wood. They are believed to have stolen firearms, cash, jewelry, and more.

Today the Scott County Sheriff's Department told 27 NEWSFIRST that they now believe the trio was involved in burglaries in Scott, Harrison, and Fayette Counties. They are now looking into whether the three were also involved in burglaries in Owen and Bourbon Counties as well.

Jason Shipwash tells 27 NEWSFIRST he was not involved in these crimes. He is the only one being charged with burglary and theft by unlawful taking at this time, but the Scott County Sheriff's Department says other charges against others are pending.
