Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
Several forest fires are creating hazardous conditions for people in parts of Eastern Kentucky.
There are a handful of large fires burning throughout the area on Wednesday.
Officials say fires in Estill, Breathitt and Leslie Counties are now under control, but a 100 acre fire in Harlan County is still raging and fire officials say it could scorch around 300 acres before it's stopped.
In Breathitt County, one fire there burning near the Owsley County line is over 1,000 acres.
Emergency Officials there have issued a dense smoke advisory in the area. Visibility in the area is down to approximately 10 feet.
Meanwhile, the fire burning in Estill County in the Mt. Zion area has scorched more than 320 acres.
Fire officials say they do have that one under control.
