A car hop was delivering food at the Williamsburg Sonic when a man grabbed her from the back and stole cash at gunpoint. Police say they knew the suspect was Jason Taylor, but they knew more about his past.

“He has a long history of stealing,” says Williamsburg Police Public Affairs Officer Shawn Jackson.

Investigators pinpointed Taylor's location Monday to be at a Shell station, but when the cops showed up, Taylor went on the run.

An officer found Taylor but police say he fought him off. Back-up was called and state police and their K-9 showed up and found Taylor hiding in the thick leaves. But police say Taylor would not give up.

“He started kicking all of a sudden, kicking the dog in the face, several times. Causing several injuries to the face(of the dog.)”

Taylor eventually gave up and went to jail. The dog will recover, but he was hurting after the attack.

“He did undergo surgery and stitches,” said Jackson.

Police say they can link Taylor to many more thefts in Kentucky and Tennessee.

“Mr. Taylor is one of them we really needed to get off the street.”

sounds like he has been arrested several times before. why is it they can't keep people like this in jail for good?? they keep letting him out and he will eventually end up killing someone if they keep letting him out of jail.
