Cross-Dressing Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

Two women are charged with bank robbery and one of them is accused of dressing up like a man to rob a bank.

The Danville branch of the Lawrenceburg National Bank was held up just before two o'clock Wednesday. WHIR radio in Danville is reporting 32-year-old Becky Metcalfe and 31-year-old Retta Dennis were arrested.

Witnesses say one of the women wore a camoflauge jacket, a toboggan, and used makeup to draw a mustache on her face. A teller hit an alarm after the two left the bank. The Perryville Police Chief happened to be nearby. The suspects were arrested and police recovered the stolen money. Both women live in Frankfort, but are formerly of Mercer County.
