Crews are still working Thursday to contain forest fires, burning in several counties.

In Harlan County, a 300 acre burning near the Coldiron community is now under control. It broke out earlier this week.

Two fires are also under control in Leslie County. They are burning near the Stinnett community. Forestry officials say one is 190 acres, the other 200 acres.

An uncontrolled fire is burning Thursday in Knox County. It is in the Chestnut Flats area near Barbourville. It is about 65 acres and forestry officials say it is still spreading.

A forest fire that forestry officials say appears to be intentionally set is also burning in the Mt. Xion area of Estill County. That fire is about 350 acres, but it is contained.

And a fire along the Breathitt/Owsley County line is still smoldering. It consumed about 1,000 acres, but is now contained.
