Thieves Target Churches

Churches often open their doors to strangers, but it's that open invitation that now has many becoming the target of criminals.

Police in Jessamine County say a rash of break-ins at several local places of worship may be happening when they least expect it.

Police believe the thefts are occurring while the churches hold festivities. Police say the most recent thefts occurred at Crosswoods Baptist Church and Church of Savior Community Church on Halloween, while the churches were holding festivities for children.
