The man accused of hitting a state trooper with his van appeared in court on Friday morning.
29-year-old Mikeith Wilson pleaded not guilty in a Madison County courtroom.
Police say they were headed to a home as part of a drug raid early Thursday morning when they spotted a van involved in the investigation at a nearby Shell station.
Police say the suspects tried to take off in the van, and ran into state police Detective Jasper White. White suffered a broken knee cap.
Another officer fired at the van, hitting Wilson. He was hit in the butt and taken to UK Hospital for treatment.
Wilson is facing attempted murder of a police officer and drug charges. Two other people in the van also face drug charges.
