Traffic on I-75 is moving smoothly after a tractor trailer caught fire late Tuesday night.
The fire left some of the southbound lanes closed for about three hours near the northern split in Lexington.
The fire soon engulfed both the tractor and the trailer.
The driver escaped just in time.
Several drivers witnessed the fire and resulting explosions and called 911.
Firefighters aren't sure if a blown tire or if something under the hood malfunctioned causing the fire.
The truck driver was put up in a hotel for the night.
