Police in Letcher County are warning people to be on the lookout for some scam artists.

Police say three men approached a couple who lives on Elk Creek Road in the Blackey community.

The men offered to lightning proof the couple's home for $14.00, but after the service was completed, the men raised their price to $900.

The victims were not satisfied, but ended up paying the men for their work.

Police think the men are targeting elderly and unsuspecting people.

The con artists are described as white men in their 20's or 30's. Two of them were about 5'3" tall. One weighed 120 lbs, the other 170 lbs. Both had short black hair. The third man was about 6' tall about 200 lbs with gray hair and a goatee.

Police say they were driving a red Chevy truck from the 1980's.

If you see these men, contact state police at 1-800-222-5555
