A grandmother who left her grandson in a hot car for hours will not face any charges.

The Laurel County grand jury refused to indict Linda Long on Friday morning.

Police say Long left the two-year-old boy inside her SUV for close to eight hours while she worked in a London hospital.

Madison Nose died because of the heat.

Long was arrested on reckless homicide charges, but she is no longer facing those charges.

all I got to say is that , someones sins will get a person in the end , It is a down right pittiful excuse to leave a child in the car for eight hours and not no nothing about it so come on now what the [edited] is wrong with that picture anyone?

I don't think that anyone could do anything to hurt her worse than she has already done herself. She has to live with the fact that she let her grandchild die. That would be enough to kill me, and if she loved her grandchild, I am sure she will live through hell for the rest of her life on earth, and that is more punishment than any judge or jury could inflict on her.

Who leaves a kid alone for 8 HOURS ANYWHERE????

Let me just say, my mother is my world and I would never want her to go to jail. However, if my new baby were in her care and she did this, I would be the one in jail, because I would kill her. This is craziness!!!!!!

Kentucky huh? I pray that I never get sick in that state. I would not want her to be a nurse where if I were in the hospital.

"There are no excuses for leaving a child in an automobile unattended for any amount of time." Then you get this kind of a thing, and yes sometimes kids are safe for a few minutes if need be in a vehicle. If the vehicle is safe they are not in any real danger unless someone does something to them or unless they are simply forgotten about. For the most part no one that leaves a child asleep for a few minutes to carry groceries in, runs to do a quick errand, or something like that forgets about them any more then if they are in another room. I think this grandma was over tired, and shouldn't have been taking on more than she could handle. I don't think she really had to? Who knows? She shouldn't have had to. "Each one of these types of cases have their own circumstances." Each one of them are different, but each of them are the same as far as so many people wanting to play GOD and judge the other person! As far as intentions. NO one is GOD!

i can't believe she's getting away with this.. send the message: grandma's come to ky and kill your grandkids and our stupid people will support you and set you free. come on down.. pathetic

what the hell is wrong with you people? she's suffered enough! she still has her life. this child died slowly and i'm sure painfully and you are praising her. i can't believe this.. she should be dealt with the proper way. why don't you just walk up to this child's family and slap them in the face. how can you support someone like this??? i don't know why the jury refused to indict her, but they need a new jury.

I don't understand how you could leave a child in a suv.You know that child is there. That was very cruel for her to do.

I don't see how thay didn't have enough evidence for inditement

Posted by: anonymous Location: kentucky on Nov 22, 2008 at 06:51 AM
so she gets off scott free for doing something that other people have done much much less than and been hanged up for their lives? how is that justice? I don't say that lightly, I only hope that it can make some people start to think?

I am sure this woman will never forget what she did,but I am having a hard time beleiving that she went into work,at a HOSPITAL where she needs an alert mind to do her job and forgot a 2yr.old grandchild in her hot car for 8 hrs.come on people wake up.

There are consequences for all actions. Good and bad. This grandmother should have been held accountable for killing her grandchild. It appears to me the grand jury members were very inadequate in considering the evidence and laws as they pertained to the death of this child. This infant was left in an automobile to die a slow suffering horrible death. There are no excuses for leaving a child in an automobile unattended for any amount of time. I've come to the conclusion that common sense has been bred out of the human race. I can say without a doubt, I'm living in a land of idiots.

Since my first comment isnt printed-I figured it wouldn't be...I KNEW someone would say SHE would be pay for the REST OF HER LIFE...(bulls***!!)Atleast she has a life...Madison has no life. I disagree that she has suffered enough. Had this been My child and MY mother...I would expect MY mother to pay DEARLY for killing MY CHILD.

Each one of these types of cases have their own circumstances. I am so relieved to hear the charges have been dropped. Bad and sad things happen to good people. I pray that God will watch over this family and hold them together. Compassion, understanding, and forgiveness is needed by all of us.

How can you let someone off for murdering a small child.

Posted by: J Location: SE KY on Nov 21, 2008 at 06:52 PM
HALLELUJAH??? What kind of person cheers the horrific suffering and death of an innocent child? How much suffering is enough, Lisa? And it isn't "what happened to her grandchild," its what she DID TO her grandchild. The grand jury in this case has spoken loud and clear -- the life of a child is less important that the life of the adult that killed him. I hope it doesn't happen again.

i said from day one that this well whatever u want to call it would never serve one day for what she did to that little boy! i hope that i never ever have to go to the hospital where she works in the heart cath lab. i wish i knew the doctor's name that bailed her out. i would never use him as a doctor not even for an animal.

I'm sure she will be paying dearly for the rest of her life. I will continue to keep her and her family and my prayers.

I'm happy to see the charges have been dropped in this case. I believe this woman has suffered enough. I don't think she will ever get over what happened to her grandchild.

Why is it that one person was sent to prison in a case like this and "no one" has been convicted since?
