Three Children Confirmed Dead In Fire

CINCINNATI (AP) - Fire officials in Cincinnati say a father
tried to coax his daughter to jump during an overnight house fire,
but the girl perished along with two siblings.

Investigators believe the children were ages 2, 5, and 9. Fire
Captain Mike Washington says one body was found on the home's first
floor, the other two were on the second floor.

The father of the children did leap from a porch roof and was
taken to a hospital. Their mother managed to get out safely.

Firefighters arrived on the scene after 2:30 this morning to
find flames pouring from all parts of the house.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Washington
says investigators could have a difficult time because of the
intensity of the blaze.
