Police and EMS were called and found 3 teenage girls, passed out drunk, and in need of medical attention during a slumber party that people say got way out of hand.
Police said Monday that it would take some time to figure out exactly who gave the three teenage girls so much alcohol that they required hospitalization. The mother of one of the young teens says that during the sleepover, her daughter called home, and she said she knew her daughter was drunk.
“I got down there as quick as I could and when we got there, the police were there, and an ambulance was called and one girl was unresponsive, others were in bad shape,” said the woman, who asked not to be identified.
And Tuesday night police arrested Whitney Nicole Denny,20, of Lily. She's charged with felony offenses of first degree wanton endangerment and unlawful transaction with a minor for giving the girls alcohol.
“I think they were giving the children alcohol..and laughing at them, at how they were acting,” said the mother.
All three girls were taken to the hospital but are OK now. And now there's shock and surprise over what happened.
“I was told this lady was very good lady. Church going lady, married with 2 children. And I never would have dreamed that this would have happened,” said the mother.
Whitney Denny was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center on $20,000 bond.
