WKU Wins Cross-State Battle In Women's Hoops

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Arnika Brown recorded her sixth
double-double in the last seven games, scoring 12 points and
pulling down 16 rebounds in Western Kentucky's 66-57 victory over
Kentucky on Thursday night.
The Lady Toppers (5-2) controlled the game from the tip, with
the Wildcats' (4-3) only lead coming at 2-0 in the first 12 seconds
of the game. Western Kentucky led by as many as 22 points midway
through the second half.
Neither team was able to gain a rhythm on the offensive end,
with Western Kentucky shooting just 36.9 percent (24-for-65) from
the field. Kentucky only managed a 31.3 percent (20-for-64) clip
from the floor.
Kenzie Rich and Dominique Duck scored 15 points each, and Hope
Brown contributed 10 points for the Lady Toppers.
Kentucky's Amani Franklin led all scorers with 16 points. Eleia
Roddy added 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Wildcats.
