Soldier Pleads Not Guilty to Murder Charge

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) - A Fort Campbell solider has pleaded
not guilty to premeditated murder in the shooting death of an Iraqi
detainee.
During an arraignment Monday, Staff Sgt. Hal M. Warner, of
Braggs, Okla., pleaded not guilty to all five charges including
accessory to murder, assault, obstruction of justice and making a
false official statement.
Warner is charged along with 1st Lt. Michael C. Behenna, of
Edmond, Okla., in the death of Ali Mansour Mohammed.
Military prosecutors allege Behenna of stripping the detainee
naked, shooting him in the head and chest and watching as Warner
set fire to the body with a grenade.
Behenna also is scheduled to be arraigned later Monday.
