Look for storms to increase from the west the rest of the afternoon. Heavy rain, strong winds and lightning are the main threats.
The Fraternal Order of Firefighters conducts a toy drive every year for the children of Lexington.
This year they will be serving nearly 1,000 additional kids who have requested to receive toys from the drive. The problem is there are just not enough toys to go around.
The toy drive is in it's home stretch while many children are counting down to the give-away this Saturday. Firefighters are counting the number of gifts they still need, and have headed for the toy aisles at Meijer Wednesday morning.
Firefighters tell us, "Donations are down about 50% so we're out here today spending money so we can gather as many toys as we can."
Meijer was generous enough to donate $2,500 worth of toys to the drive. The toy drive would normally end Thursday, but the firefighters say they will be accepting donations and toys through Friday.
If you would like to make a donation, drop off your toys at the former Champs Roller Dome on Palumbo Drive.
