FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Gov. Steve Beshear will outline his ideas Thursday for handling a $456 million Kentucky budget shortfall.
Beshear has scheduled a morning news conference at the state Capitol.
The state is facing a $456 million shortfall in the current fiscal year that ends June 30. Kentucky's two-year $19 billion state budget is not set to expire until summer 2010.
Earlier this week, Beshear announced he would give back 10 percent of his pay to the state as a symbolic gesture of solidarity. He also said that any plan would probably include funding cuts that would likely be "very painful."
