Escapee Accused Of Kidnapping, Murdering Woman Due In Court

Thursday, we could get our first glimpse of a jail escapee charged with murdering his ex-girlfriend, then ended up getting shot in the process.

An arraignment is scheduled for Thursday afternoon in Morgan County for Robin Maple, who recovered in the hospital then went to jail.

Police say after he escaped from the Montgomery County Jail, Maple showed up at Melissa Patrick's house, kidnapped her then killed her.

Patrick's step-father shot Maple as he tried to get away.

A grand jury found the step-father acted in self defense.
