Contract Worker Killed at Ky. Mine

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - A contract worker has been killed at a
western Kentucky mine in an accident involving a bucket lift.
Energy and Environment Cabinet spokesman Jim Carroll said
31-year-old Timothy Ross Albright of Madisonville died Thursday
after the lift malfunctioned, causing him to strike his head on an
overhead beam at a coal preparation plant under construction at
Manitou.
Carroll said in a press release that Albright was installing
electrical wiring when the accident occurred.
Albright was an electrician working as part of a construction
crew at the Cardinal mine operated by Warrior Coal Co. in Hopkins
County.
The state's mine safety agency is investigating the death - the
eighth at a Kentucky mine so far this year.
