The line of mourners stretched out the back doors and into the parking lot of the Nicholas County High School gymnasium Sunday evening. Hundreds of friends and family members came to the high school to honor 18-year-old Brittany Ruble. Ruble died last Wednesday in a car accident on her way home from school.

Ruble's immediate family members stayed close to the young woman's open casket during Sunday evening's visitation. Her siblings describe her as someone who was always happy and "never met a stranger." They say her favorite subject in school was art and describe her as a "good kid" who never got into trouble.

Ruble and her boyfriend, 23-year-old Timothy Mitchell were travelling on KY 32 last Wednesday when they collided with an oncoming pick-up truck. Both died at the scene of the crash. Mitchell's funeral was held on Saturday. Ruble's funeral will take place on Monday at Nicholas County High School. All Nicholas County schools will be closed in observance of the funeral services.
