Heroic Hunters Honored

Two hunters are being hailed as heroes for rescuing a trapped dog.

The father son team were honored by Lieutenant Governor Daniel Mongiardo Sunday in Lexington. George Staklin Senior, and George Stakelin Junior dug in deep mud for hours to free a Newfoundland named Chelsea.

The dog went missing from her home in Frankfort a week before. Today the men received a special plaque for their efforts at Uptown Hounds in Lexington.

Sadly, Chelsea died several days after being rescued, but her owner says she's grateful she got to see her companion one last time.
