City officials say the changes are in place to keep things moving near the mall and Hamburg, but do shoppers think it's working?
The answer is... it depends. Most people have just settled on the fact; with the Holidays comes traffic and hard to find parking spots, so drivers are taking to the Fayette Mall and shopping centers earlier in the day and on weekdays rather than weekends.
Lexington Police say it's doing it's part to clear non-injury accidents as fast as possible to keep things moving. Saying it takes team work to accomplish it, working with the Traffic Management Center team.
Steve Cummins of the traffic management center says they have modified about 100 traffic signals around the county to accommodate the amount of drivers heading to shopping centers.
