Workers Blown Off Billboard

Friday was an unusually warm and windy day across the bluegrass.

While the persistent winds were fun for some, they were inconvenient for many and for others they proved more dangerous .

A strong gust blew two workers from their perch on a billboard on Versailles Road in Frankfort and left them dangling in mid-air.

A man who works at the car lot under the sign says the men were saved by their safety harnesses, but were stuck for about ten minutes until fire crews arrived with a ladder truck.

The witness says one of the men's harnesses wasn't working properly and was cutting off his air supply, but he was rescued before he passed out.

Lamar Advertising didn't return our call for comment as to why the men were working in such windy conditions.
