LOUISVILLE, KY -- Gusting winds and an arctic cold front will push the wind chill factor into the single digits to near zero today, the National Weather Service office in Louisville reports, with a wind chill from zero to near 10 below zero this evening.
The weather service has issued a wind advisory for north-central Kentucky from noon to 7 p.m. today.
Northwest winds of 25 to 30 mph, with gusts to 45 mph, are expected this afternoon, the weather service said.
The strong winds may make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. The temperature will drop to around 20 by 5 p.m.
Winds will slowly diminish tonight as temperatures fall into the single digits by dawn tomorrow morning.
