Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
A man continues to recover after being shot by a security guard Sunday night in Estill County.
It happened at the Price Less Foods in Irvine.
Police say 78-year-old George Lane, who was the guard at the store, shot a man trying to rob the store.
At around 7:00 in Sunday evening, witnesses say William Hurley came in the store, armed with a gun. He reportedly grabbed a female employee and forced her into a room where there's a safe.
Lane's family members say at that point, Lane snuck up behind Hurley and asked him to drop his weapon. Family members say when Hurley started to turn towards Lane, he fired a shot, hitting him in the stomach.
Hurley was airlifted to U.K. Hospital. He was last listed in serious condition.
Lane is apparently very shaken up.
Another grocery store in the area was held up on Saturday night and police are looking into the possibility that the two may be related.
