Their run for freedom didn't last long. Just hours after breaking out of an eastern Kentucky jail, three inmates are back behind bars

It happened early Friday morning at the Jackson County Jail in McKee.

Deputy Jailer Markie Barker says when he went to a cell where Wayne Maupin and Billy Farrar were being held. They reportedly grabbed Barker, took his keys and put him in the cell.

After that, they locked another deputy in a holding cell before leaving the jail with a third inmate, Judy McQueen.

They were returned to the jail at around 10:00 Friday morning.

Maupin was a trustee at the jail and jail officials say they thought he was trustworthy.

Both Maupin and McQueen were being held on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, while Farrar was held on fugitive charges out of Mississippi.
