Family And Friends Remember Crash Victim

He was doing the right thing, driving a friend home who'd had one too many, when tragedy struck.

20-year-old Michael Lucas died when a pickup hit his car on U.S. 60 in between Farmers and Morehead this weekend, in Rowan County.

Monday night, his friends are remembering the young man who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Friends say Lucas was driving on U.S. 60 serving as a designated driver, when he was struck and killed.

Police reports say Lucas and his passenger, friend Matthew Crouch were hit head on when 27-year old Daniel Thompson driving a pickup truck westbound crossed the center line.

Police are still investigating whether Thompson was under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Lucas' passenger, Matthew Crouch, is still in the hospital recovering. Daniel Thompson is also recovering.

Funeral arrangements have been made for Lucas. His visitation will be held at Renoldsville Church in Owingsville from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

His funeral will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the church.
