Family Reacts To Woman Killed In Sheriff's Deputy Shooting

Investigators are trying to piece together what they know after a woman was found shot to death on a Nicholas County horse farm.

Police were called to a horse farm on Headquarters Road in western Nicholas County.

55-year-old Brenda Pollitt was found dead.

State police say the death resulted from an incident between two people -- one of those a Boone County Sheriff's Deputy.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department identifies the deputy as Scotty Hill, who's been with the department for more than five years.

Authorities say Deputy Hill has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation by Kentucky State Police.

No charges have been filed.

The Nicholas County coroner tells 27 NEWSFIRST Pollitt owned the farm where the shooting happened.
