2009 Session of the KY General Assembly Starts Tuesday

FRANKFORT, KY. (AP) - The Kentucky General Assembly begins its 2009 session on Tuesday, charged with addressing the state's $456 million budget shortfall. Gov. Steve Beshear has proposed to lawmakers raising the state's cigarette tax by 70 cents to $1 and doubling the tax on other tobacco products.
