Versailles Police are looking for whoever is responsible for a rash of burglaries in Wood ford County.

Police have been working hard to solve 46 reports of home break-ins but now they are turning to the community for help. Police say the thieves target homes that are set back away from the road in broad daylight.

Officer Pat Melton says the criminals will kick in doors or get into homes through unlocked windows, once inside they look for easy and quick things to steal and get out before they are spotted.

Police say, with this type of crime it is hard to catch people in the act so they are asking people to make sure to secure their homes and for neighbors to look out for one another.
