A sad return to class today for some southeastern Kentucky students who lost a classmate over Christmas break.
Cheerleader Brooke Lambert died last month in a crash, just down the road from Middlesboro High School in Bell County.
Monday students at the school wrote letters of remembrance about the well-liked sophomore. The school played a song to remember her throughout the day.
Friends like Lacresha Glover say it's tough. "It's just weird not seeing her here and not seeing her in class, and hearing her laugh and coming up and talking to me."
Two other students were hurt in the crash. Ashley Barger is recovering at home while Whitney Brock remains at a Tennessee hospital.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
