Police in Lexington are searching for two suspects, after a man was shot inside his home tonight.

Family members tell 27 Newsfirst that 50 -year-old, Elliot Wilson was shot in the stomach.

They say two men entered their Willard Avenue home just after 8 pm.

The men demanded money and when Wilson said he didn't have any, they shot him.

The two ran off on foot.

Two other people were in the house at the time, but were not harmed.

We as a society need to step up and put and end to these violent criminals terrorizing our community! Now, this innocent man is fighting for his life because two cowards shot him after breaking into his home. FOR WHAT!! They could have easily left, but they shot this man for NO REASON!! I will pray for this man and his family, and hope they will be watched over. This is the 20th or so armed robbery/shooting within as many days here in Lexington, and Beshear wants to cut the police force!! It is obvious we must protect ourselves, the police are only able to respond after the fact. Liberals want you to give up your right to bear arms, WHY?? So we can remain helpless against criminals with guns?? If someone breaks into my home I will be greeting them with LEAD!!
