Dozens of workers are now looking for work after a Franklin County company announced layoffs on Tuesday.
Topy America let 45 workers go. The company makes steel wheels for the automotive industry.
Company officials say the layoffs represent a 16% reduction of its workforce in Frankfort.
Topy says it hopes to be able to re-hire the workers if economic conditions improve.

This is so sad. However, our politicial leaders do not try and do nothing to prevent this from happening. Again, slash the prices on those cars, trucks, and people would buy them. Stop sending work overseas. Frankfort is the capital city of Kentucky and yet we have lost about 4 factories and Beshear is not the least bit worried or did not try to stop it, and is not trying to help these people, or trying to bring work here. A waste of government officials. Mitch and Beshear both need to resign
