An argument leads to gunfire, now one man is in the hospital, another in jail.
State police say the two got into a fight at the accused gunman's home in rural Clay County, a few miles outside Manchester.
38-year-old Brian Napier was shot several times.
The family of the accused gunman, 49-year-old Dexter Hicks, says the fight was over an incident between the victim and Hicks' sister-in-law.
The family says Hicks told Napier to stay off his property.
The sheriff says Debra Henson tried to get a warrant for Napier's arrest just hours before the shooting.
Napier is in serious condition at UK Hospital.
Police charged Hicks with assault.
