GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) - A Palestinian health official says
the bodies of 35 people have been found in the rubble of a Gaza
Strip battle zone.
Dr. Moaiya Hassanain of the Palestinian Health Ministry says the
bodies were discovered today during a three-hour pause in fighting.
Israel agreed to the lull to allow aid shipments into Gaza.
The United Nations is halting aid deliveries to the besieged
Gaza Strip. It cites Israeli attacks on its staff and
installations, charging that tank fire killed one of its drivers as
he went to pick up a shipment.
The Israeli army says it's investigating the incident, which
came shortly before Israel again suspended its Gaza military
operation for three hours to allow in humanitarian supplies.
As Israel pushes forward with its offensive against Gaza's Hamas
leaders, militants in Lebanon fired at least three rockets into
Israel early today. Israel responded with mortar shells.
No group has claimed responsibility for the rocket fire.
Lebanon's government condemned the attack, and Hezbollah, which
fought a month-long war with Israel in 2006, denied responsibility.
